Have You Been Tested for Colon Cancer?

Getting screened for colon cancer isn't fun, but consider this: The five-year survival rate for people whose colon cancer is treated early--before it has had a chance to spread to other parts of the body--is 92 percent. Everyone over age 50 should get tested for colon cancer because that's when more than 90 percent of all colon cancers are diagnosed. People under 50 should be tested if they have a family history of the disease. For information, consult your family physician.
